Michael Beaupre

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be in the gym lifting weights. As a young child, my father worked out in our home gym and I would be there with him climbing the rack and trying to deadlift with his EZ curl bar. I was always involved in team sports growing up that incorporated lifting weights as a big part of it, such as football. These factors all influenced me to start lifting more seriously the day after my 12th birthday and from then on I was instantly hooked.

I started my powerlifting career in 2014, breaking my first American Record in the bench press. I later went on to win USAPL Raw Nationals as a teen and compete at IPF Bench Press Worlds. In 2016, while still in high school, I started my coaching career by having my friends workout with me. I would teach them exercises and write up programs so they could compete in powerlifting themselves. I started professionally coaching in 2021 which lead me to coach an athlete who broke a long-standing state record and went to High School Nationals.

Throughout all these years I have gained so much knowledge of this sport, starting with my dad at a very young age to now. I feel as though I bring knowledge from multiple generations of powerlifting to better understand the evolution of the sport. I am constantly working with athletes to make their lifting experience better and outcomes more rewarding through communication and teamwork. It’s important to me to create strong communication between coach and athlete to provide well rounded coaching.
