“In the summer between my sophomore and junior year of high school, I had been training for powerlifting for about a year all by myself, with still little to no knowledge about the sport. When I knew it was about time to get a coach/handler, Erik Hogan recommended his athlete, who was new to coaching at the time, Michael. I’m now in my Senior year of high school, and I’m very confident to say that Michael has been the perfect fit for me. In the beginning, He has been right by my side every step of the way. I can depend on Michael to help me with any questions about training, diet, and recovery. When it comes to programming, he sends a spreadsheet the weekend before every block, which is very easy to read and understand. If a exercise isn’t for you, he will change it and find a better substitute for you.

Michael is a very hardworking man with a passion for the sport, along with working and taking care of his newborn baby Piper, Michael is still very flexible when it comes to replying to my texts. He has helped me shape me to who I am today. One of the greatest things when it comes to his technique in coaching is that he is very real about what he thinks I can and can’t do. He will push me to be greater and if I set a unrealistic standard, he’s there to tell me the truth. On meet days, he’s with me through it all, and knows exactly how to get me in the right head space so I can push myself that day. Michael has strengthened me physically and mentally and has allowed me to gain the confidence that I never had when it came to other sports. I cannot thank him enough and I strongly recommend Michael to be your coach if you want to better yourself.”
